【第五课作文】Dear Rebecca ,  
I've heard that you ' re going to take part in an educational exchange in Montreal. That ' s wonderful.
If you come to my school , you don ' t have to wear a uniform . You  can choose your own clothes . If you don ' t speak or write English  well. You can take special evening classes. If you feel homesick.  I can take you to Chinatown.
There are some things you should do before you come . For  example, If you come to Canada in summer, you'll need to bring  some T - shirts . And don ' t forget your sunglasses because the sun  shines brightly here.
Please write if youd like to know anything else.

    我听说你要参加蒙特利尔的一次教育交流，太棒了！
   如果你来我的学校，你不必穿校服。你可以选择你自己的衣服。如果你英语说写不好，你可以参加特别的夜校。如果你想家，我可以带你去唐人街。
   在你来之前，有些事情你应该做。例如，如果你夏天来加拿大，你需要带一些T恤衫。别忘了你的太阳镜，因为这里阳光明媚！

             【第六课作文】Jing Gong Qiu Yu  
One year it did not rain for a long time in the State of Qi , and  there was an extremely severe drought.
Jing Gong , the King of Qi , was very worried . He wanted to offer  sacrifices to the mountain deity to pray for rain. His prime minister  Yan Zi said to him : " Your Majesty , don ' t do that . It is no use to beg the  mountain deity for mercy . The soil in the mountains is like his muscle;  the grass and trees in the mountains are like his hair. When it doesn ' t  rain for a long time , the hair of the mountain deity will wither and his  muscles will be seared in the sun . Won't the mountain deity be anxious for rain too ? If he could make it rain , it would have rained  long ago ." 
Jing Gong said:"all right,  we won ' t beg the mountain deity .Then  how about begging Hebo ( the river deity ) ? " 
"Your Majesty, It's no use either."replied Yan Zi . "water is  the territory of Hebo . Fish and soft-shelled turtles are his subjects . When it  hasn ' t rained for long time , the water in the river will dry up , which  means that Heho will lose his territory. His subjects like fish and soft-shelled turtles will all die of thirst . If Hebo could make it rain . it would  have rained long ago . What the use of praying to Hebo ? "  
Convinced by Yan Zi ' s words , Jing Gong no longer prayed to the  deities for rain.  
                             景公求雨
   有一年，齐国长时间不下雨，发生了非常严重的干旱。
   齐国国王景公非常担心。他想祭祀山神以祈求雨。他的宰相晏子对他说：“陛下，不要这样做。向山神祈求是没有用的。山上的泥土就像他的肌肉；山上的草木就像他的头发。如果长时间不下雨，山神的头发会枯萎、肌肉会在阳光下晒伤。山神不是也急着雨吗？如果他能让天下雨，那早就下雨了。
 景公说：“好吧，我们不去乞求山神，那么去乞求河伯怎么样？”
  “陛下，这也没用，”晏子回答。“水是河伯的国土，鱼和鳖是他的臣民。如果长时间不下雨，河里的水就会干涸，这意味着河伯将失去他的国土。他的臣民像鱼和鳖都会渴死。如果河伯能下雨，早就下雨了。那么向河伯祈求有什么意义呢？”
   景公听了晏子的话，不再向神灵求雨了。
               【第七课作文】Dear James ,  
…… English words is by a word game .  
First , look at some words for two minutes . Then try to write down the words in order as  many as you can remember in four minutes . This game is fun to play. 
If you are good at drawing , you can use the picture method. Draw a picture to match each word . When you think of the picture  you can remember the word . If you make the picture strange and silly , you will remember the word better . Why not have a try ?

            【第八课作文】……First , there are few plants in our school . This makes  our school hot on summer days . We should plant more trees in our  school to make the air cool and clean . Next . there is rubbish in the  classrooms . We should take turns to clean the classrooms every  day . Finally , there are very few books in the school library and  some of them are very old . We should donate some books to  the library so that we can share them with others.
Let ' s work together and make our school a better place for us  to study in !
